David A. Wireman

David A. Wireman, 69, of Hawkeye died Friday morning, March 3, 2017,  at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye with Rev. Jim Harbaugh officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5th at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Hawkeye and for one hour preceding services at the church on Monday.

David Arthur, son of Francis and Beth (Treloar) Wireman was born June 5, 1947, at the hospital in New Hampton. He received his education in the Janesville Schools graduating from Janesville High School in 1965. On November 13, 1971, he was united in marriage with Florence Gallagher. The couple made their home in Cedar Falls until March of 1989, when they moved to rural Hawkeye. David worked for Kent Feeds in Waterloo for thirty years prior to retiring on November 1, 1998. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking care of the animals he raised.

He is survived by his wife, Florence of Hawkeye; two children, David (Corrina Finch) Wireman of Cedar Falls and Lenita (Jason) Bruns of Manchester; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Wireman of Cedar Falls, Edward (Anna) Wireman of Waterloo and Robert (Laura) Wireman of New Hampton; two sisters, Joann Greenley of New Hampton and Betty Pond of Waterloo; one uncle, Donald (Mary) Treloar of Hawkeye; and two aunts, Judy Treloar of Waucoma and Joyce Ellickson of Decorah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Wireman; one sister, Marie Pyle; and one uncle, Jack Treloar.
